2021 Men’s and Women’s U.S. Open

Prospective US Open teams,
NASSC will not be holding the U.S. Open in 2021 for the men's or women's divisions.  We had to make this unfortunate decision based on multiple factors - financial, operational and most important - safety.   A few items to note for 2021:
  • NASSC will be holding Premier divisions for both men's and women's teams in 2021.  We still expect top-caliber teams to participate!
  • The Premier divisions will NOT carry cash purses, but will offer the same top-level competition that our NASSC fans have come to love.
  • NASSC will not provide the usual team support for the event (hotel, transportation, stadium).  Lodging - You can find lodging information on our website https://www.sandsoccer.com/hotels/
  • Match schedules and division structures will be decided upon and distributed with the rest of our teams.  The format and number of matches for these divisions has not been decided on.
  • Registration - if you have not registered yet, please use https://app.eventconnect.io/events/9246/registration-type/create?nav=hidden and register for 2021 Men's /. Women's Premier.  If you have registered already - no action from you.  Team entry fees will be $575.
We know this is disappointing news, but we are working tirelessly to ensure that we can hold a safe and competitive NASSC 2021 for all involved.

Event History

The North American Sand Soccer Championships' U.S. Open started in 2001 to attract top domestic and international teams as the sport grew in popularity and expanded across  the globe. Initially titled the "U.S. National Finals," the U.S. Open was the first event of its kind in the United States to offer a significant cash purse. Since 2001, participants representing over twenty countries have made their way to Virginia Beach to participate in the tournament. In 2018, sixteen teams competed for the $25,000 purse in three days of intense action.

“The North American Sand Soccer Championships is one of the most vivid and thrilling beach soccer competitions in the world. As we always say, it is an event every beach soccer player, coach or fan should experience, at least, once in their life,”  Joan Cusco, Executive Vice President, Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW).
