I would like to take this time to thank you and your tireless staff for a wonderful weekend at the seventh annual North American Sand Soccer Championships. All of you have put together not only a premier event for those of us who participate in our wonderful sport, but one of the most enjoyable family events that Virginia Beach has to offer.

Our team has participated since its inception and we have grown a bit older along the way, evidenced this weekend by the growth of our own families; most of us are married and have children who were not at the first tournament.

This weekend not only provided tremendous competition, but the ability to spend quality time with our families, and that is what you and your staff should be most proud of. It may not have been the original goal of the event, but what a nice byproduct you have created for us all.

I cannot express my gratitude to you and your staff enough. Your efforts to provide funding for the Soccer Complex are unmatched in terms of civic service to our community and unfortunately go unnoticed and underappreciated.
